Letter from Our Head of School
Dear Parents and Students,
As Head of School for Insight Academy of Arizona, I'm pleased to tell you about our public, online school's mission and purpose.
While we accept students of all ability levels in grades 7–12, our school has special strengths in helping students who are struggling—for various reasons—in their education. A struggling student may be one who has failed certain courses, is bored or turned–off by school, misses school days, feels unsafe at school, or perhaps has received suspensions or has been retained in school.
Many factors can contribute to these struggles. Among them are learning issues, behavior issues, bullying, or a lack of effective alternatives at their school.
Insight Academy of Arizona offers a fresh start, with a different model that will set your student up for success. Our approach is not to judge students or families, but to help them find ways that work best for each individual student's learning.
We are an online school, but what does that mean? For most students, it means they attend school from the safety of home, where they can focus on their studies without distractions; without peer pressure; and with the help of excellent state–certified teachers, caring counselors, and a parent or other adult "Learning Coach" to provide support. Daily structure and lessons are provided through a stimulating online school environment, where classes can meet together and learning progress can truly happen.
In today's world, it has never been more important for students to finish high school. High school dropouts have an unemployment rate that is 50% lower than high school graduates. Further, once a student successfully completes high school, he or she can consider moving on to other post–secondary schooling options, from community college to vocational programs to a four–year college, or pursue a job in the workforce.
We have expanded our course offerings to include a Career Technical Education (CTE) program available to all ISAZ students. The current program offering focuses on business and administration and provides coursework that will help prepare students for jobs in the areas of administrative assistant, court reporter, legal secretary, accountant, loan officer, accounting manager, and many other opportunities.
We have an outstanding team of educational professionals who devote their career to the success of our Insight Academy of Arizona students! We have impressive ways to individualize learning for your student, while also providing social and emotional support. I urge you to review more details to review how we help students succeed and to review an overview of our outstanding curriculum, provided by K12. Also, please be sure to check our information session schedule—the best way to learn more about our school and receive answers to all your questions.
Of course, if you're ready to enroll, please do! If you choose to join us at Insight, and I hope you do, I look forward to welcoming you to a remarkably supportive school that can help turn struggle into success for your child.
