Diversity and Inclusion
Our Commitment
At K12, we power "Education for Any ONE." For us, that is more than a tagline—it’s an underlying philosophy. We stand with the Black community and we will work to help create real change toward racial equity. As an education company with 20 years of experience in online learning, we’re in a unique position to promote diversity and inclusion in the classroom and beyond for students, teachers, and all those involved in preparing our young people for successful futures. In addition to our existing programs, we are committing to the following new diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Scholarships for Students of Color
We will invest $10 million in scholarships for students of color to attend K12-powered private schools and Galvanize programs.
National Forum for Equity in Education
We will convene a national forum of educational leaders to work on creating more equitable access to high-quality education.
Courses on Systemic Racism and Black History
We will create new, interactive courses on systemic racism and Black history that will be available for free to every public school across the country.
Expanded Career Pathway in Responsible Law Enforcement
We will expand on the legal and law enforcement career pathway within Stride Career Prep by growing in partnership with law enforcement agencies and civil rights groups with the goal of building a more diverse, socially conscious, and community-supportive law enforcement workforce.
Increased Diversity in Our Workforce
We will work to expand the number of Black teachers, particularly male teachers, employed at K12-powered schools by improving recruiting, training, and retention strategies.
Dedicated Volunteer Efforts
We will promote volunteer efforts in the community through our Stride Serves program and provide incentives to encourage employee participation in these and other initiatives that support diversity and inclusion.
Employee Programs
One of the ways K12 practices our diversity and inclusion beliefs internally is through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Want to join us?
