How to Start Online Learning Strong
Start Strong and Thrive
At K12, our mission is to help students reach their full potential through inspired teaching and personalized learning. When students enroll in a K12-powered school, their families become part of a nationwide community of Learning Coaches, teachers, staff, and students. Benefits of being part of this community include access to national programming, engagement opportunities, and support—all aimed at helping students reach their goals.
We know that starting a new school can involve big changes for families. It takes time to adapt. We're here to help ensure a smooth transition, working alongside families and schools to provide the support students and Learning Coaches need to start strong and thrive.
Student Engagement Activities
Families are encouraged to take advantage of programming and support provided by K12, their schools, and the community of K12 families. This programming includes extracurricular activities designed to give all students the opportunity to connect with other students outside of class through shared interests. Students can choose from online activities including competitions and student associations as well as online clubs such as esports, photography, drama, music, and more.* K12-powered online extracurricular activities bring students together to unwind from the school day, have fun, and explore shared passions.
Learning Coach Community
Learning Coaches play a key role in helping students succeed. K12 is committed to supporting students and their Learning Coaches by providing a virtual village where Learning Coaches can connect with peers from their school community and other K12-powered schools. The Learning Coach Community is a private, safe, online environment designed to help Learning Coaches develop relationships, encourage one another, share and receive advice, access information and programming, and help children develop friendships with other students.

Student Success Stories
Hear from fellow parents and students how K12-powered schools have transformed their education experiences.
We decided to come to K12 because of COVID-19 concerns, but we've decided to stay at K12 because… I have two girls with completely different education needs and K12 is able to meet every single one of them.… We decided to just keep going.

I was very impressed with K12's social clubs. And they have a lot of extracurricular clubs, and then several opportunities during the week—like optional class connects where you could just meet and greet, lunch and learns, special speakers—so they had all these great opportunities.
